Privacy Policy

This document is a working draft. The copy below outlines how TeeTalk intends to handle your data. A final version, reviewed by counsel, will be posted before we exit closed testing.
1. Information We Collect
When you create a TeeTalk account we collect the information you give us — your email address, display name, optional username, country, and the golf-related details you add to your profile (handedness, experience level, home course). We collect the rounds you log, the posts and comments you publish, and the courses and users you follow. We also collect device-level diagnostics so we can keep the app running smoothly.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide TeeTalk — showing your feed, calculating your handicap, delivering push notifications you have opted into, syncing your bag, and helping you discover courses and friends. We use aggregated analytics to understand how people use the app and where to improve it.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data with the vendors who help run TeeTalk (Clerk for authentication, MongoDB Atlas for data storage, Bunny CDN for images, RevenueCat for in-app purchases, Expo for push notifications, Sentry for crash reporting, PostHog for product analytics). Each vendor receives only what they need.
4. Your Rights
You can edit or delete most information directly inside the app — your profile, posts, rounds, and followed courses. You can delete your entire account from Settings, and we will remove your personal data from TeeTalk within 30 days. If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights (access, portability, correction, objection) and can exercise them by emailing privacy@teetalkapp.com.
5. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is limited to a small number of engineers and logged. If we ever have reason to believe an account has been compromised, we will notify the affected user and relevant regulators within the timeframes the law requires.
6. Children's Privacy
TeeTalk is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please email us at privacy@teetalkapp.com and we will delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
When we change this policy materially, we will notify you in the app and by email before the change takes effect.
